Who gave you permission to overshare on the internet?
No one—and I’ve been doing it anyway since my first Tumblr at 15.
Now, I’m a brand strategist, copywriter, and founder of Ruby Works Co.™, where I help small business owners tell better stories—online and off. But here’s where I tell mine.
Weird Magic is my weekly email newsletter about the squishy, sticky, beautiful overlap between life and work. Every Wednesday for the last two years (and counting), I’ve sent out personal stories, creative reflections, and thoughtful musings on what it means to build something that actually feels like you.
I ask big, sometimes awkward questions like, “What made you cry last?” or “What would you tell your younger self, and why?” and most importantly, “What’s the vibe?” (ideally: soft pants). It’s introspective, a little ridiculous, and rooted in the belief that storytelling can shift how we see ourselves—and each other.
This Substack is the overflow. It’s where I come to wander, riff, and unpack ideas I couldn’t fit into the main newsletter. Voice notes turned essays. Client lessons that stuck. Half-formed thoughts, still worth exploring. Think of it as a couch chat with a friend—one who’s not afraid to overshare, ask weird questions, or send you a podcast at 11:11.
Expect stories, creative tangents, and the occasional hot take—plus a weekly reminder that the lines between work and life are meant to be blurred.
If you're new here, start with Weird Magic. If you’ve been around, welcome to the afterparty.
